Junk mail

WALT: Write a prediction for what a story might be about based on the keywords

One day Lili was sick. Ana was  when she stopped for a second and pushed the brake.   Later she took off down the street.   Ana’s manager was feeling very mad because something very bad just happened. She worried because she might lose her job her manager just said “hey your fired for being late almost everyday!!!”
“NOOOO I JUST LOST MY JOB!!!”
WALT:Evaluate our prediction after reading the story (Junk Mail by Prue Hilson, Pt 3, No.3 1995)

I give my prediction a 4/10. I predicted correctly that Lili was sick and that Ana was delivering circulars on a buggy. However I did not predict correctly that Ana got yelled at by lots of people and that she ruined the pamphlets.

Where am I describing

Where am I describing ?
It goes from low to high then from high to very high, into the clouds.you can see hundreds and thousands of lights shining down on the ground at night.  A small screen contains all the movies, games and music that adults and children might like. You have to wear your seatbelt at all times. The employees bring you what you order. Above your head there is a switch and if you demand someone’s help, you just press that.  It is very hard to sleep in the seats because you can not lay down, you have to sleep upright. You travel into different countries in this vessel. Seatbelts must remain fastened during take-off and landing. There will be a seat belt sign and when that turns off, you can undo your belt if you wish.  Your ears could hurt or get blocked. Amusing, amazing view, uncomfortable and at times, exhausting.

Blue colour poem

Blue looks like
Blue looks like the bright morning sky.                                    Blue looks like the waves crashing on the sand .
Blue looks like colossal whales and friendly dolphins splashing in the water.
Blue looks like skinny blue jeans.
Blue feels like
Blue feels like icy cold ice.
Blue feels like icy snowflakes falling in your hand.
Blue feels like rain dripping like tears.
Blue feels like the soft blue feathers of a peacock.
Blue sounds like
Blue sounds like rain falling from the cloudy sky.
Blue sounds like putting mentos into coke and making a big explosion.
Blue sounds like water crashing into a rock.
Blue sounds like a blue ball bouncing.
Blue tastes like
Blue tastes like mint mentos and mint ice cream.
Blue tastes like sweet blueberries and blueberry muffins.
Blue smells like
Blue smells like bluebells and blue roses.

speach Cats Are Awesome!

Cats Are Awesome!

Introduction
“Mrs Perkins, look at what the neighbour’s cat is doing! Isn't that just adorable?  lt’s standing by the door and making a loud noise so that someone will let him in the house! Aren’t cats intelligent?”
Well, I’m going to tell you lots more about cats and why they are awesome creatures.

Did you know that cats can help people that have cancer? You’ll be wondering how? Well, if we didn’t have cats lots of people with cancer would feel lonely and sad.  It is good that we have cats because
the presence of a beloved pet cat can help calm a person. There is   even a claim that therapy cats can reduce pain according to the current pain and head reports.

Some people think cats are boring but cats are actually fun to own.  They do many funny and crazy things that will make you laugh out loud.  Some of them drink disgusting water from the toilet, some of them poop in boxes and leave other people to clean it up for them.  They run up and down stairs for three hours and they open and close the kitchen doors. They pull strings out and roll over  They like to make  loud noises but they get frightened easily when other people make unexpected loud noises their eyes go big they meow and run away

Cats are cute and cuddly.  They make several loveable noises.  For example, a meow can be a simple way a cat is saying hello.  A purr can mean a cat is happy and comfortable. It has even been researched that purring can help to relax and destress people when they hear it.  Cats can chatter away when they see something they think is exciting, which can sounds very amusing to us humans. Their fur makes them soft and warm and also nice to feel.

cats don’t necessarily need humans to have a happy life.  While it is undeniable that cats are more independent than dogs, some cats breeds are known to be more cuddly than others and rely on humans for those cuddles.  Cats are also unbelievably cute. They have small, round eyes that look curiously at moving objects, they have long whiskers that stick out from the sides of their nose. Their ears are small and pointy and stick up when they hear an interesting or scary noise and their tail swishes from side to side.

Conclusion
So… to sum up… I believe that cats are important and make outstanding pets…. By their cuteness  there help to sick people so i hope that you people so far have agreed with me stop sitting in your chair feeling lonely and go get yourself  a super pet well i need to is well

coconut

How to make coconut cream

Coconuts are a key ingredient in Samoan cooking. Every part of the coconut is used. You can eat
the flesh raw or use it for cooking, you can drink the juice, the shell makes a handy cup or, together
with the husks, you can fuel a cooking fire. The most widely used product from the coconut is
coconut cream, so let me describe how the cream is traditionally made.

You will need
Coconut /popo
Knife
Scraper
Coconut husk
Bowle

1. First you have to get your ingredients together. then using the back of the knife hit one side of the
coconut. Turn the coconut after every little hit. then pull the shell apart.  The coconut will have some
water inside that you can drink but make sure you leave some for later.

2. Next get the coconut scraper and sit on it. If you are right handed you have to use your left hand to
hold and right hand to push forward. Use a bowl to collect the flesh.

3. Get the coconut husk. Put a little bit of coconut water and coconut flesh inside. Hold it with your
hand and squeeze tightly until the coconut cream comes out

Now you know how to make coconut cream so why not give it a try

Tangaroa and the Taniwha

The night was dark and dreary was a stormy night, thunder rumbled and the wind howled.
The waves crashed and the wind blew angrily. The Maori had left Hawaiki in their wakas in search of a new land.

Suddenly from far below the sea rose a tremendous taniwha with enormous eyes, a huge turquoise body, sharp horns and a moko on his mata. The enormous taniwha ate some of the wakas in one huge gobble.

Hearing the sound of destruction brought Tangaroa to the surface to see what was happening. Tangaroa the god of the sea appeared from under the surface with long hair and a moko on his mata. He was a sea warrior. He was a strong muscular god. He was bigger than a tall totara tree. His hands were massive and he held a patu.

Tangaroa shouted “What are you doing in my sea!?” “I am going to chop you into pieces”. The taniwha started to worry. Tangaroa again whacked angrily with his razor sharp patu into the taniwha’s enormous flesh. The tanwhia shrieked out in pain “Grrrrrrr”. The beaten taniwha, close to death,  leaked blood the colour of the black night. The ocean turned into a red blanket of blood. The taniwha lay in three pieces

The sea was safe for everyone. Over time the three pieces of the taniwha turned into the islands of Aotearoa.

The Waka

Splash! Go all the oars of the tattooed warriors. The oars then reappear above the surface. Seagulls squawk above the water.  Strong tattooed hands push to the rhythmic chants “tahi, rua, toru, wha!” The men rowing on the waka are saying it again and again.
Anxiously we ready for a fight.
The waka is getting closer to the island. The island  is full powerful men with their patu and their long taiaha. When we arrive it is very serious, they stomp their feet and poke out their tongue and said “we are not scared, we are gonna eat you all”.

How to Hongi

The Hongi

What is a hongi?

A hongi is the pressing of noses, which symbolises the exchange of the breath of life

When does the hongi happen?

When the tangata whenua side indicates that the speeches are complete, the manuhiri speakers approach the tangata whenua to hongi

What to do.

1. Say kia ora gently shake hands with a adult  and squeeze it a little bit
2. Then put your lift hand on their right shoulder
3. After that sensibly a little press on there nose but not a hard push

The hongi is a greeting that shows respect to the tangata whenua therefore it is important you do it correctly.
